OUR PROJECT & PARTNERSHIP

We work to address mental health taboos within African and other Culturally and LinguisticallMany clients come to Afri-Aus Care (AAC) with unresolved trauma. This trauma may have occurred in their country of origin and/or after settling here in Australia. Because of the stigma that mental illness attracts amongst many African and other CALD communities, it may remain undiagnosed and untreated. AAC works to remove these barriers and improve personal wellbeing.y Diverse (CALD) communities. We provide assistance and support to individuals through primary mental health intervention and intensive support programs and
by counselling clients’ families. Involvement in these programs enables individuals to better integrate into Australian society.

AAC maintains connection with local health, education, government, legal and community agencies to enable clients with culturally specific needs to access appropriate services.

Afri-Aus Care is run by Culturally Appropriate trained and qualified professionals from divierse backgrounds. We offer holistic and intensive assesment using our Health and Wellbeing Assesment tool. Our participants from any age are offered primary interventions, pre-rehabilitation and rehabbiliation based on the stage the participants come into our care. Postive outcomes from our participants is the main goal that Afri-Aus Care professionals look out for as they care for the participants. (Testimonal page coming soon)

Afri-Aus Care UBUNTU Restorative Model regardless of where we come from in Mother land Africa we genuienly care for each other. Migration pathways to Australia are different for each individual/family. Upon arrival to Australia, we face similiar challenges, for example language barrier, seperation of families intergenerational conflict, under or unemployment. Cultural shock and over representation of African youth in prisions.

Afri-Aus Care works very closely with African Australian’s who are affected by these challeneges. Together with our highly qualified professionals the UBUNTU Peer to Peer restorative family youth group and volunteers, we tirelessly support our community members through the following groups: General Referals, UBUNTU Peer to Peer Restorative Family (Boys and girls), The Black Rhinos Basket Ball Program, The Empowering African Mothers UBUNTU Practice, Alternative Education And Employment Pathways, South East Community Leaders Engagement Program, Culturally Appropriate Legal Support, Prision Program, Emergency Response Programs (Covid-19 Response/Bush fires Response) and NDIS support Services.
